I have always been a clumsy person, literally tripping over air on a regular basis and falling down so often that no one even asks if I’m okay anymore. So it seems fairly fitting that this clumsiness carries into other aspects of my life – specifically, my love life (or lack thereof). I am forever telling my friends about the ridiculous situations I get myself into, mostly through dating, and these tales are usually met with a number of responses; laughter, shock, rounds of “you’re kidding”, laughter, sympathy, disbelief and then some more laughter.

Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t been completely unlucky in love. Although I have yet to find my “Mr Right”, I have been fortunate enough to meet some lovely warm up acts. However, lovely isn’t funny. Or shocking. But crazy, gross and downright weird? Now that’s funny. And I’ve got plenty of those to share! But just for good measure I’ll also throw in some tender moments, a few tear-jerkers for balance and if I’m feeling really generous, you might even find a couple of WTF moments too. And if I do manage to shock you at any point? Well, that’s just a bonus.

My hope above all else is that these stories will be relatable; that if you’re reading this after a terrible date you’ll realise you’re not alone – that someone else out there has been through it too. Maybe had an even worse experience. And despite the shockers, there is still hope, and Prince (or Princess) Charming is out there somewhere just waiting for you to reach that chapter in your story.

I’ve been told a few times by my friends that I should write these stories down, so here I am sharing them with you all. There will be some fabrication, some elaboration, a lot of truth, and hopefully even some entertainment in this blog, so I hope you enjoy it! And being a hopeless romantic, my quest for the love of my life is not over yet, which means there are many pages yet to be written…
